Hello, hello!

Welcome to LFQ, an advice conversation for every woman who is trying her best to navigate the quotidienne issues of the day and make the most of this life. We’re Kate Rogers and Elizabeth Kendig, two longtime editors and friends who have made a lot of discoveries—and mistakes—in our fortysomething years so that you don’t have to.

At LFQ, we tackle topics both big (relationships!) and less big but essential (mascara!), with the same candor we’ve come to expect from each other and our inner circle has come to expect from us when they need the best egg salad recipe or are having a career crisis. While we don’t claim to have all of the answers, we’ve usually been there, done that, and find immense joy in sharing our hard-won wisdom with others.

Who is LFQ?

When we aren’t penning this sub, Kate leads digital strategy for a content agency, making magic for iconic brands while heroically raising twin boyzos. Elizabeth is an author, editorial director, award-winning blogger and skincare founder who you may know as Beauty Bets or the host of Healers podcast.

We bonded a decade ago in a shared cubicle outside the office lunchroom and haven’t touched microwave popcorn since. Although we now live 2,000 miles apart, when we do get together nothing can pry us from Kate’s kitchen counter with its bottomless conversation, pimiento cheese dip and French chard. We hope that reading LFQ feels like you’re right there with us.

What happens here?

Every other Wednesday, we answer questions from readers and each other on everything from navigating friendship to finding a bra that actually fits. When we don’t have the answer, we’ll invite more qualified friends into the mix to share their expertise with the LFQ community. In addition to tried and true advice, you’ll also receive our unsolicited musings on the usual suspects: what we’re up to, buying, reading, watching, loving and of course eating.

Like us, LFQ is a work in progress. Every edition is free while we focus on enjoying what we do and making something you look forward to reading. That said, we welcome donations to support our work—and mascara habit. Your readership is a gift as it allows us to collaborate and build community with heart, not algorithms, and reclaim our creativity in the process. We are so glad you’re here.

Cheers,
Elizabeth & Kate
